How to Manually Install Arist on Microsoft Teams as a Learner

Introduction

Arist is a messaging-based learning platform that delivers interactive courses directly in your Teams chat. This tutorial will guide you through the simple process of installing and setting up the Arist app in Microsoft Teams.

Note: You should only go through these steps if directed by an administrator or leader at your company. In many cases, Arist will be will be installed by your Teams admin, making it unnecessary

Step 1: Access the Apps Section

  1. Open Microsoft Teams

  2. Click on the "Apps" icon in the left sidebar

  3. This will take you to the Apps marketplace

Step 2: Search for Arist

  1. In the search bar at the top, type "Arist"

  2. Press Enter or click the search icon

  3. The search results will display various apps including Arist

Step 3: Select the Arist App

  1. Locate the Arist app in the search results (it has a red triangle logo)

  2. Click on the Arist app to view more details

  3. You'll see an overview of the app including ratings and description

Step 4: Add the App

  1. Click the "Add" button

  2. Wait for the confirmation message "Added successfully!"

Step 5: Start Using Arist

  1. After adding successfully, click "Open" to launch the app immediately

  2. Once opened, you'll see a welcome message

  3. The welcome message explains how Arist works:

    • As a learner, you can reply directly to course content

    • Arist Admins can share course content directly to your Teams chat

    • Arist removes the need to log into a different platform!

  4. For additional help, click on the "Help" or "About" buttons, or visit the help center

(Conditional) Step 6: Self-Enrolling in a Course

Most Arist users have courses sent to them by administrators in their organization. Sometimes, you will be asked to self-enroll in a course. This option is only available if it is turned on for your organization. To self-enroll in a course, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Enroll button

  2. Type in the self-enrollment code shared with you by an administrator from your organization

  3. You will automatically be enrolled in the course
